King’s College London Workshop ‘A pledge to end the social stigma of obesity’

February 9 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Obesity affects millions of people worldwide. These individuals are not only at risk of serious medical complications, they also face a pervasive form of social stigma and discrimination.

At this workshop, an expert panel of academics, medics and activists will raise awareness of the prevalence and health impacts of weight-based stigma in healthcare and beyond. They will also challenge the misconceptions around body weight regulation and explain why obesity cannot be solved only by eating less and exercising more.

This free hybrid (online and in-person in London) workshop takes place Friday 9th February 2024, 11-3pm. Lunch is provided for in-person participants.

For more information and registration please visit A pledge to end the social stigma of obesity (hybrid) – King’s College London (kcl.ac.uk)

The workshop is part of a KCL educational program on weight bias and follows on our pledge to end the stigma of obesity
