Obesity Alliance National Conference

Registrations are now open for the inaugural Obesity Alliance conference which help healthcare professionals tackle the obesity challenge facing the UK.
The event will give UK healthcare professionals access to free CPD-accredited education from leading experts in the field at National Conference Centre Birmingham on May 17, 2024.
The event will be chaired by Professor Melanie Davies CBE, a Professor of Diabetes Medicine at the University of Leicester and an Honorary Consultant Diabetologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Professor Davies is Co-Director of the Leicester Diabetes Centre and has published more than 900 original articles.
The agenda includes:

- Broad approach to weight loss and weight loss maintenance – Dr Matt Capehorn
- The impact of obesity on pregnancy outcomes; focus on diabetes – Dr Claire Meek
- Type 2 diabetes – what have we learnt? – Prof Melanie Davies
- The role of physical activity in a holistic approach to weight management – Dr Louisa Herring
- Surgical treatment of obesity as part of multi-modal care – Mr Dimitri Pournaras
- Heart failure and obesity with focus on HFpEF – Dr Gaurav Gulsin

- Integrated care models: An example of setting up a Tier 3 Service – TBC
